This is an easy way to make sphere effect by few simple steps.

Step 1:
Open new document any size, Draw a circle by “Elliptical Marquee Tool” by holding “shift” to draw a circle by fixed ratio 1:1, choose a blue color then fill the circle by “Paint Bucket Tool”.

Step 2:
Create a new Layer, draw an oval, fill it by the “Gradient Tool” after choosing white color with “Foreground to Transparent” mode and “linear Gradient” .

Step 3:
Duplicate the gradient layer and rotate it 180 ° , then go to the Menu Bar » Filter » Blur » Gaussian Blur and set the “Radius” for 40.0 pixels.

Step 4:
Back to Layer1 of the blue circle and we will add some effect by adding Inner Glow, go to Menu Bar » Layers » Layer Style » Inner Glow and set the “Blend Mode” to Overlay, Opacity to 50% , Color white, Source from the Center and Size to 130px.

Step 5:
We will add color effect by adding Hue/Saturation Layer, go to the Layer Palette » Adjustment » Hue/Saturation, check the box of Colorize and set the Hue to 180, Saturation to 50, Lightness 0 .

Step 6 and the last:
Draw a small Oval in a New Layer under the layer of the blue circle and fill it by black color and as we make in step 3 go to the Menu Bar » Filter » Blur » Gaussian Blur and set the “Radius” for 40.0 pixels.
